Bandung, Indonesia – The English Language Teaching Department of IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon and the English Education Department of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung convened for a collaborative workshop on Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) on 4 August 2023. Hosted at the Faculty of Tarbiya and Teachers Training, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, the event marked a significant milestone in fostering academic cooperation and sharing best practices in the field of English language education.
Ten esteemed lecturers from IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon embarked on a journey to UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung to participate in the workshop, where they were warmly welcomed by the faculty and staff. The presence of these scholars underscored the commitment of both institutions to exchange knowledge, collaborate on research endeavors, and enhance teaching methodologies in line with the principles of MBKM.
The workshop commenced with an opening address by the Dean of the Faculty of Education at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to host esteemed colleagues from IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. The Dean highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing educational initiatives and emphasized the significance of MBKM in shaping the future of higher education in Indonesia. Throughout the day-long workshop, participants engaged in fruitful discussions, interactive sessions, and collaborative activities aimed at exploring innovative approaches to English language teaching within the framework of MBKM.
