Cirebon – The English Department Students Association (EDSA) is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the 3rd COALESCE (Conference on Applied Linguistics for English Studies Focusing on Education) held on December 5, 2021. Under the theme “Linguistics and Technology in English Language Learning for the 21st Century,” the conference provided a platform for scholars, educators, and students to explore innovative approaches to English language education.
COALESCE, an annual event organized by EDSA, aims to foster collaboration and exchange of ideas in the field of English language education. This year’s conference focused on the intersection of linguistics and technology, addressing the evolving landscape of language learning in the digital age.
The highlight of the conference was the insightful keynote addresses delivered by distinguished scholars in the field:
- Roghibatul Luthfiyyah, M.Pd., from Gunung Jati University, shared her expertise on the integration of technology in English language classrooms. Her research explores the use of digital tools and platforms to enhance language acquisition and student engagement.
- Dr. Nana Priajana, M.Pd., from IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, delivered a thought-provoking keynote on the role of linguistics in shaping language teaching methodologies. Drawing from his extensive experience, Dr. Priajana discussed the theoretical foundations of language learning and its practical implications for educators.
